From the Globe and Mail, June 10, 2006
“That piece of property is slated for mixed commercial-residential development as
part of the new subdivision, according to T.J. Cieciura, of Design Plan Services
Inc., overall planners of the Cathedraltown project. He said the developers were
Cathedral Town Ltd., 404 Developments Inc. And Slovak Greek Catholic Church Foundation.”
From the National Post, June 26, 2006
“The 50 acres were not to be ‘titled’ to the Vatican,” said T.J. Cieciura, Cathedraltown’s
planning consultant. The entire plan is a seamless community with the Cathedral as
its focal point.”
The Westmount Roundabouts,
by Genstar Development
Company, developed jointly by
Design Plan Services Inc., Cosburn-Giberson Consultants Inc., Cosburn Patterson Mather Ltd., and B.A. Consulting Group Inc. Were given an Award of Distinction in recognition of the roundabouts in West Oaks Trails. In determining the award, “The jury found these turning circles to be a very civilized way to break down the scale of what otherwise be a long street. An added benefit of the turning circles is the creation of interesting vistas and the establishment of an organizing element around which the dwellings can orient. This entry warrants recognition as a model of how streets can be re-integrated and how, over the length of the street, it can make for more identifiable neighbourhoods.”
