T.J. Began his planning career with Design Plan Services Inc. In 1995 after graduating from York University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts (HBA) in Canadian Public Policy and Administration. He subsequently accepted employment in 1998 from the City of Mississauga, Planning and Building Department, while pursuing a Master of Science (Msc) degree in Rural Planning and Development from the University of Guelph. T.J.’S employment at the City of Mississauga allowed him to gain experience as a Counter Planner, Committee of Adjustment Planner, and a Development Planner before returning to Design Plan Services Inc. Where he currently holds a Planner position.

 

T.J.’S experience includes working on Official Plan Amendment, Rezoning, Site Plan, Minor Variance, and Consent files for industrial, commercial, and residential developments. He has written municipal zoning by-laws, reports to City Council and Committees of Council, and made presentations in support of his work. He also appeared in front of the Ontario Municipal Board as a professional planning witness on several occasions.

 

Dealing effectively with members of the development industry, applicants, members of the public, and municipal staff has given T.J. Excellent experience with which to benefit future clients. T;J. Always approaches his work with enthusiasm, professionalism and seriousness. He is a member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (RPP), the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP), and the Association of Ontario Land Economists (PLE).

 

T.J. has volunteered his time as the Contributing Editor for the Ontario Planning Journal where he maintained the “In Print” section dealing with recent publications related to the Planning and Development of Land in Ontario. He also volunteers with various U.D.I. Initiatives and sits on the York UDI Chapter, Halton UDI Chapter and Golf Committee. He is also involved in volunteer work within the local community.
