Located in Adjala-Tosorontio, the property at 6484 Concession Road 3 was a former Christmas tree farm that a client had purchased to sever into three lots so that it could be used for residential purposes and as a generational property for the family. The proposed consent to sever application was prepared to sever the existing lot into three separate lots with a new house proposed on each of the three lots. The proposal faced a number of challenges related to environmental constraints as well as agricultural protection policies.
Design Plan Services Inc. was retained to undertake the initial research and prepare the applications. Acting as the authorized agent representing the property owners, a Planner from Design Plan Services presented the application to the Committee of Adjustment. He provided professional planning rationale to the committee, who eventually ruled in favour of the property owner.
