At 756 Warden Avenue, our client proposed the construction of a new building containing a bingo hall with electronic gaming components and a restaurant. While the Zoning By-law permitted a bingo hall, it prohibited restaurant and electronic gaming uses. We successfully represented the client at the Toronto Local Appeal Body (TLAB), demonstrating that the inclusion of a restaurant and electronic gaming component did not alter the fundamental nature of the bingo hall use. As a result the proposal was approved at TLAB, allowing the project to proceed to the next phase.
Design Plan Services Inc. was initially retained to represent the client at TLAB. After approval, DPS was retained to assist with the SPA application which is currently ongoing.
