The Town of Georgina is a municipality located in York Region on the southeastern shores of Lake Simcoe. As a growing community, the Town’s planning department manages a diverse and steady volume of development applications that require thorough review and administration.
Unlike a traditional site-specific development, this unique project involved acting as an extension of the municipality’s own staff. The scope encompassed reviewing and processing a wide range of Planning Act applications. This included facilitating pre-consultation meetings, assessing minor variances, and evaluating complex zoning by-law amendments and draft plans of subdivision.
Design Plan Services Inc. was previously retained by the Town of Georgina to provide supplementary municipal planning support. We successfully assisted Town staff in administering these applications, ensuring that proposed developments aligned with municipal policies and provincial legislation during our period of engagement.
